National Day of Italy’s Historic Establishments

Between Memory, Identity and Culture: Our Liberty Salon Captivated the Public

On Saturday, October 4, 2025, the Caffè Storico Tettuccio experienced an unforgettable day. A sold-out event celebrated Italy’s Historic Establishments — a journey through memory, identity, and culture that transformed our Liberty-style salon into a stage of living history.

Enchanted gazes among stuccoes and vintage mirrors, and a Belle Époque atmosphere that can be felt in every corner.

A success that confirms how much people seek authentic places — where time itself tells stories worth listening to.

A Recognition That Fills Us with Pride

“We are truly pleased with the national attention received through the Historic Establishments network,” said manager Renzo Borelli.

“Participation was remarkable, and I want to thank everyone who chose to spend this special day with us.”

The Caffè Storico Tettuccio was the only establishment in Montecatini Terme to represent the city in this prestigious national initiative, confirming its role as a landmark for those seeking authentic experiences among Tuscany’s thermal treasures.

A Journey Into the Past to Rediscover the Present

The National Day of Italy’s Historic Establishments offered visitors a special opportunity to explore the cultural and historical heritage preserved within these century-old walls.

Through a free guided tour, guests immersed themselves in the traditions and stories that intertwine taste, memory, and Italian identity.

Leading the tour was local historian Roberto Pinochi, who shared curiosities and secrets about Montecatini’s most iconic Liberty-style salon.

Welcoming guests were hostesses in period costumes — an authentic retro touch that made the atmosphere even more magical.

The Timeless Charm of a Liberty Jewel

Founded nearly a century ago, the Caffè Storico Tettuccio still preserves its original furnishings.

Located inside the celebrated Terme Tettuccio, a symbol of the Belle Époque and timeless elegance, the café is a true architectural and artistic gem.

Inaugurated in 1928 by Italy’s then Minister of Finance, Giuseppe Volpi di Misurata, it was splendidly frescoed by artists Giulio Bargellini and Maria Biseo.

Its precious wood paneling and antique mirrors complete an environment that has fascinated prominent figures and artists such as Luigi Pirandello, Pietro Mascagni, Giorgio De Chirico, and Marcello Mastroianni.

Every detail tells a story of splendor. Every corner is a fragment of history that continues to live on.

Stories of Taste That Travel Across Tuscany

The goal of the day? To connect, share, and celebrate the great stories of taste, craftsmanship, and tradition that cross Tuscany.

The Caffè Storico Tettuccio proudly took part, opening its doors to all who wish to discover a cultural heritage made of elegance, authenticity, and history.

An event that once again highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting historic venues — true custodians of memory and collective identity.

If you are looking for a venue in Tuscany that evokes emotion — one that combines history, charm, and a timeless atmosphere — the Caffè Storico Tettuccio awaits you.

In the heart of Montecatini Terme, among Liberty-style architecture and historic gardens, every visit becomes an unforgettable journey.
